The path toward a climate-neutral circular economy in construction is shaped by clear regulatory frameworks, flagship projects, and the consistent application of forward-looking technologies. All three of these levers came together at the 22nd Symposium on Building Materials and Structural Preservation in Karlsruhe.
With the presentation of our pilot plant, our COO Felix Baur had the opportunity to round off the program—demonstrating how innovative concepts can move beyond theory into real-world application. Our pilot facility exemplifies this transition: it shows how circular processes in construction can be technically realized and scaled economically.
The symposium highlighted the wide range of innovations already emerging—from regulatory developments and new materials to real construction projects. At the same time, one message was clear: implementation is key. Only by testing and refining technologies under real conditions can the transformation of the construction industry succeed.
The exchange with leading experts from research, industry, and associations made the event particularly valuable. Together, participants explored how to reduce CO₂ emissions in concrete construction and accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions in practice.
A sincere thank you to the organizers and contributors for an excellent event—and for providing a platform to share our vision of a circular construction economy.
