Cooperation between Rement and the IMB

We are pleased to announce that Rement will be working closely with the Institute for Structural Engineering and Building Materials Technology (IMB) , Department of Building Materials and Concrete Construction, at KIT in the future. Both parties share the vision of a sustainable circular economy in construction. The IMB underscored this commitment, not least through the establishment of the new working group "Resource Efficiency and Circularity," with which we will jointly open up new research areas related to Rement technology.

Institute Director Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Dehn , one of Germany's leading building materials experts, will serve as a mentor to Rement during the cooperation. We are convinced that Rement's process engineering expertise and the IMB's building materials technology expertise will complement each other perfectly. With extensive laboratories and an affiliated materials testing institute, the IMB also offers Rement outstanding infrastructure for laboratory research, prototype development, and pilot projects.

Piloting of the Rement technology is planned for 2025.

According to the current schedule, a pilot phase of the Rement technology is planned for 2025. In this phase, compared to the prototype stage, the scalability, level of automation, and robustness will be expanded. At the same time, we will be moving from a laboratory to a semi-real-world environment. The pilot plant will enable operational testing and further refinement of the potential applications of the produced products.

Project launch of the EXIST research transfer is in preparation

As a first joint success, our application for EXIST Research Transfer funding for the pilot project was positively received by the jury. The project launch is currently being prepared. EXIST Research Transfer is a funding program initiated by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action. It supports outstanding research-based start-up projects involving complex and high-risk development work. The funding covers both the personnel costs of team members and the material costs of the pilot project. We are extremely pleased with the confidence shown by the project sponsor and the jury. This support allows us to fully concentrate on the further development of the technology and preparing for market entry.
