Rement wins concrete recycling pilot project in Schwedt, brandenburg

Demonstration in an industrial environment is the crucial preliminary stage before scaling up to commercial scale. With the Startup Labor Schwedt, the BMWE, EXIST, and the Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development have launched a unique initiative to support this step. In the first Startup Challenge, Rement was one of five green tech startups to win a €300,000 contract to carry out a pilot project in collaboration with local industry.

Defossilization and decarbonization for industrial change

In Schwedt, Brandenburg, green tech innovations will meet established industry in the future. Schwedt has a well-developed infrastructure, a workforce with a high level of technical expertise, and a dense local industrial network. However, the suspension of oil supplies via the Druschba pipeline, which connects Schwedt with Russia, has made it clear that solutions for defossilization and decarbonization are needed to secure the future. The Startup Labor Schwedt received 36 applications from green tech startups from all over Germany who want to pilot their technologies to solve these problems in Schwedt as part of a challenge. Ten startups were invited to develop pilot projects in collaboration with local industry and present them to representatives from industry, politics, and science on August 1, 2025.

We are looking forward to taking this step into the real world

We are delighted that we were able to convince the expert jury and industry partners and are one of five startups that will be able to pilot our technology in Schwedt. The BMWE initiative fits perfectly into our roadmap. The approach of awarding contracts instead of providing funding at the pre-commercial stage, which is revolutionary in Germany, increases planning security and reduces administrative costs at the same time.

In the project scheduled for 2025 and 2026, we will adapt our technology to local conditions, operate it on site, and validate its operation and raw material qualities with local representatives from the paper, recycling, and building materials industries. We would like to thank our industry partners for their openness and enthusiasm for innovation, and the Startup Lab team for their excellent organization. Let's design the industrial transition!
